Some News

Happy birthday Canada!

Also, iTunes 4.9 is released and I am trying to figure out some of the new features (such as added support for podcasting).

Finally, the router will come soon, hopefully Tuesday.

Router broken

My Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless 802.11b router seems to be broken:(

Internet was intermittent (sp?) for a while on both upstairs and downstairs computers and after a long tech call to Rogers, it became clear that the router was at fault. Right now, the basement computer is connected directly to the modem, and the internet seems to be working so far. If there is talk of buying a new router, then I will propose D-Link or Belkin. Also, it'll be nice to have a G router instead of an old B one, even though the card on my PC is a D-link 802.11b card.

D-Link seems to be better than Linksys.

Ruler

This is an old ruler that my grandfather was throwing out last summer when I was in Pakistan. However, I salvaged it since it looked more complicated than anything I had ever seen before; the thing has cosine and sine tables for Jeebus's sake. Click to enlarge.

Carem

Our family enjoying a team game of carem board, down in the basement. Click the image to enlarge.

We bought the carem board from a Pakistani sports store in Toronto. Other things sold there include cricket bats, cricket jerseys and field hockey sticks and equipment, in addition to various game videos and other media about cricket and hockey.

The game featured myself and my mom versus my dad and my brother. With a lot of luck and many flukes (it was the first time my brother and I were playing carem in life and it was many years since my parents had played the game), my team won. :)
